The Renowned Musician Encourages Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The project seeks to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded following a solidarity show held in the autumn. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The diverse array of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a group of acclaimed names from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which managed to collect a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of music creators. The track features a fusion of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These resources will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“There is no a rigid aim,” a representative said. “We aim for as much as possible. Of course, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the area was noted for its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of property described as in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a handful of millions is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is above all making this cause better known and showing that another narrative exists.”

The track is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the solidarity show will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
