Football Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
