Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
